Violence on TV

On today’s talk shows, guests and audience members often argue
heatedly with each other, and on more than one occasion, guests
and audience members have been hurt. Do today’s talk shows go

  2. Yes, I do believe in my opinion that the drama and violence go to far on talk show's. When you turn on the T.V. you are looking for educational or entertainment. If you want drama you can just leave the house and see it on the streets. Putting drama and complete ridiculous acts such as fighting and bad language in a talk show it sets a bad example for kids that do not understand that its just T.V. They might want to go out and act just like the people they see on the T.V. and get them self's in big trouble like they see their parents or other adults. Adults are supposed to be a good example for children and putting violence like that on reality talk shows it does not help to set a good example. That is why, in my opinion, violence and how people acts on talk show, reality T.V. etc. does go way too far.

  4. Yes talk show always go to people in the audience an want people to answer there question but then will end up in a argument. Talk shows also talk bout people personal life an will put people on the spot about stuff they probably feel uncomfortable talking about.

  5. Yes they are, they talk about stuff that shouldn't be out in the open. People have their problems and i feel everyone in the world shouldn't know your business!

  6. People have always had a fascination with violence. As far back as the days of Rome, Caesar would stage gladiator fights for the masses of people to enjoy. The reason MMA is so popular is because it is more aggressive and violent than boxing. Therefore, when a talk show host presents a person who appears to be an average Joe or a plain Jane on television, we the audience finds it appalling when plain Jane kicks off her shoes and starts to attack anyone and everyone on the stage as if she is crazy mad; yet, we can't take our eyes off the carnage. Talk show host like Jerry Springer knows this because his ratings jump exponentially the more outrageous his show becomes. In fact, people even pay a premium to view the uncut uncensored versions of his show.
Another aspect to consider when watching talk shows is that human beings like to see people do worse than ourselves. The average person is envious even uncomfortable when around people who are more successful and/or stable. Somehow many people find success in other people's failures, so when we here about someone who is engaging in trifling behavior, the behavior validates us as a person allowing us to say to ourselves that we are not so bad after all.
